Race Number 7

22nd January 2019

Current Race Bikes - 2018 YZR600 & Kawasaki 2015 Supertwin 650.

In 1998 I took a Bike test with a friend and and went straight to Motor Cycle City in Bristol and brought a brand new Honda Fire Blade 999

Then we went straight to the Isle Of Man and watched the 1999 TT races and all I did for the next 2 weeks, early mornings and between open road times, we went on the TT track and just done lap on lap and that's when the dream started.

I always wanted to go on the Roads proper to race after seeing my Hero Joey Dunlop win the TT. A good friend of mine, who is no longer with us, Chris Reeves, said to me you got to go racing you’ve definitely got more than just a road bike rider in you.

Bless him, then it all began , as soon as I got back I got an ACU novice license and joined NG Road Racing Club. I took part in their 600 Streetstock series which I've been in and out of for over 12 years or so  all over the UK Circuits. Time fly's LOL !

With some great top 3 finishes and a few Championship battles and of course a lot of bruises  and cost.

I then joined into an Endurance National 1000 team in 2016 with my Welsh team mate and buti, Paul Potchy Williams.

We battled to a 2nd Championship finish that year  and then we both entered the Manx 2016.

Road racing  become part of us , and then we also started  Irish road racing at Cookstown, Tandragee , Killa Lane and others which we have been doing ever since.

Our great place we love to come every year is our Aberdare Park racing AMCC in Wales , which we have enjoyed and became part of for the last 5 years  (even though I'm am  English LOL) Great people , great Paddock and  staff who are so helpful to me and my family , always welcomes us.

Last year I also done my first Southern 100 Isle Of Man which took my dreams to a new level.

This year much the same Irish roads, The park, some NG Rounds and another dream has finally come in I've been accepted to do the 2019 Ulster GP can't wait for that one.

I am a 55 year old racer with a Spirit of an 18 year old , I love this great sport and the people I have met over the years and most like me feel it's a family, once you are in it your part of it all your life , nothing else like it.

I will carry on for now and I am enjoying it still , and with some great sponsors on board like Northville Scaffolding Bristol , M2 Flooring Bristol, Reilly Plumbing  Clevedon, which helps keep the wheels turning.

Big thanks to Terry Barber who helps me look after my bikes & keeps me in order LOL, and biggest thanks to my Poor Wife Tracy Wynne (FLOYDY) who’s put up with me all  over the years.

Thanks for all the support I get from Aberdare Park Staff and all the public every year which always helps us riders motivation year in and year out, appreciate it .

See you in 2019 Shaun Wynne Road Racer Number 7 - You won't miss me I'm the green loud machine !
